Status Update Januari 2024:
De route wordt aan gewerkt. Diverse aanpassingen door info uit het veld moeten
verwerkt worden. Wanneer we een concept route hebben die gebruikt gaat worden
om voor te rijden, zullen we hiervan een kaart met hoogteprofiel publiceren op de
website zoals bij alle brevetten van Randonneurs NL gedaan wordt.
Voor de verzorgingspost zijn we in onderhandeling met een mooie locatie net ten
westen van Braunschweig.
Enkele kengetallen:

De Hanzesteden, lange tijd het synoniem voor handel en avontuur, voor handelslieden die de halve wereld afvoeren om handelswaar te vinden, te vervoeren en te verkopen. Op veel plaatsen kom je nog sporen van deze avonturiers tegen. Bij de Hanze 6-9-6 treden we in de voetsporen van de illustere Hanze avonturiers.
In het IJsseldal vinden we een hele serie Hanzesteden. We kiezen daarvan Deventer als de startplek. Daarna bezoeken we een aantal Hanzesteden langs de rivieren waaronder Venlo en Keulen. Een mooie vlakke route door de dalen van de Maas en Rijn. Maar dit blijft niet zo, na Keulen verlaten we het Rijndal en steken we via een aantal mooie natuurgebieden door naar Braunschweig.
Voor de start kies je of je na Braunschweig terugdraait naar het vlakke land, en na 1200km weer terug in Deventer aankomt, of dat je doorgaat voor nog meer Hanzesteden, met de 2100km. Kies je voor de volledige serie, dan rijd je vanaf Braunschweig naar Rostock, Lübeck en Hamburg, drie Hanzesteden van formaat. Na dit rondje kom je terug in Braunschweig.
Vanaf Braunschweig lopen alle routes dan over Bremen, Oldenburg, Groningen en Zwolle. We kiezen de makkelijke weg terug, door het vlakke land.
(Disclaimer : De getoonde route is indicatief. Wanneer we de route ter controle gaan rijden kunnen er grotere of kleinere aanpassingen gemaakt worden.)
Om het allemaal wat makkelijker te maken zal er een verzorgingspost komen op het knooppunt in of nabij Braunschweig. Hier kun je slapen en gebruik maken van onze drop bag service. Tot de verzorgingspost is er geen verschil tussen de 1200 en 2100. Na de verzorgingspost maakt de 2100 een extra lus van 900km waarvoor de rijders 120 uur extra tijd krijgen. Als je dan ook nog bedenkt dat je na de verzorgingspost hoofdzakelijk door de Noord Duitse Laagvlakte rijdt, dan is de stap tussen 1200km en 2100 km het overwegen zeker waard.
De liefhebbers van historische avonturen verwelkomen we begin september aan de start in Deventer!

The track is under construction. Various adjustments due to information from the field
must be processed. When there is a concept route that will be used for the route-
check, we will publish it as a map with elevation profile on the website, as is done
with all Randonneurs NL brevets. We are negotiating with a beautiful location just west of Braunschweig as a support
location.

The Hanseatic League, a union of trading cities, synonymous for trade and adventure, for tradesmen travelling the known world for all kinds of goods, to transport, to trade. All over Northern Europe you can find the traces of these adventurers. While riding the Hanze 6-9-6 you can follow the footprints of these illustrious Hanseatic adventurers.
A first series of Hanseatic towns we find in the IJsselvalley. The town of Deventer is our start town. During the first part of the route we visit a number of Hanseatic towns along the rivers, a.o. Venlo and Cologne. A nice flat route through the valleys of the Maas and Rhine. But it doesn’t stay that flat, after Cologne we’ll leave the Rhine Valley and cut through via a number of beautiful natural parcs to Braunschweig. Before you start, you’ll declare your intent, return after Braunschweig to the flatlands and return to Deventer after 1200km, or continue for a whole lot of extra Hanseatic Towns, and only stop after 2100km. If you choose full value, you’ll visit 3 famous Hanseatic towns, Rostock, Lübeck and Hamburg. You’ll return to Braunschweig after completing this 900km lap through northern Germany.
After Braunschweig all routes continue via Bremen, Oldenburg, Groningen and Zwolle, an easy route, with hardly a hill worth mentioning.
Disclaimer : The indicated route on the map is the preliminary route, after route checking, some small or maybe even larger changes could be made.
For the ease of the riders, there’ll be a staffed control at the crossroads of the 3 routes, in or near Braunschweig. Including sleeping options and a drop bag service. The route from the start to the staffed control will be the same for all the riders. After the staffed control, the 2100km riders will do a loop of 900km, netting an extra 120 hours for these 900km. The return 600k will be mainly flat, straight through the Northern German Lowlands, so upgrading to 2100km is certainly worth considering.
